IWDP Hills-I:

Because of environmental degradation Integrated Watershed Development Programme was launched in three sub-watershed, Devak and Ramkote Shivalik region of Jammu and Dudhganga in Karewas region of Kashmir province. The IWDP Phase-I was actually conceived in 1990 for a period of 7 years with the World Bank assistance of US$18.57 million with the closing date 30th of June 1997, but on conclusion of designated period, there remained unspent US$7.94 equivalent to INR Rs. 3200.00 lacs and IWDP Phase-I was accorded extension for two year i.e 1997-98 and 1998-1999.Click For Details

IWDP Hills-II:

On the successful completion of IWDP Phase-I, the IWDP Phase-II was sanctioned by the World Bank. It was primarily different from Phase-I, in terms of having large geographical coverage a more participatory and integrated approach to improve production potential for sustainability of assets and having some new components such as rural roads, minor irrigation and potable water facilities in Kandi belt.
